Abstract
The initiative's success can be attributed to the effective implementation of the three key interventions. Farmer training programs provided farmers with the necessary skills and knowledge to adopt sustainable agriculture practices, while infrastructure development improved access to markets and inputs. Market linkage facilitation helped farmers to connect with buyers and sell their produce at better prices. The initiative's geographic focus was on Eastern Province, where soil degradation and limited market access were identified as primary challenges. The program's timeframes were from 2018 to 2022, with midterm evaluation conducted in 2020. The recommendations from the midterm evaluation emphasized the need to continue and scale up the initiative's interventions to achieve sustainable food security in Rwanda.
