Abstract
The program invested approximately 2 million lempiras in the CESAMO of the municipality of Protección, Santa Bárbara. The project aimed to improve the infrastructure of the Centro de Salud Médico Odontológico "Teresa Sarmiento", which will provide a space for more than 9,000 patients. The project included modifications to the existing areas, repairs to the roof, floor, electrical system, and construction of a second level, among other improvements. In Macuelizo, Santa Bárbara, USAID|NEXOS invested around 1 million lempiras in the CESAMO of the community "La Flecha". The project aimed to improve the infrastructure of the Centro de Salud Médico Odontológico, which will provide a space for more than 7,000 patients. The project included modifications to the existing areas, installation of a floor, doors, windows, electrical system, and sanitary system, among other improvements. In Cucuyagua, Copán, USAID|NEXOS invested more than 800,000 lempiras in the Centro de Salud of the Aldea de Gualtaya. The project aimed to improve the infrastructure of the CESAR, which will provide a space for more than 2,000 patients. The project included repairs to the installations, construction of a sanitary module for patients, and construction of a perimeter fence. As part of the institutional strengthening at the local level, USAID|NEXOS conducted a training and capacity-building program in the municipalities of Corquín, Cucuyagua, and San Pedro Copán of the Mancomunidad Higuito. The program aimed to develop the capacities of municipal personnel and the Mancomunidad to execute activities to improve the quality of water and sanitation services. The training covered topics such as the plan of strengthening for public services, matrix of follow-up, manual of administrative procedures, and follow-up of the process of facturation.
