Abstract
The initiative aimed to generate income for widows and orphans of the Rwandan genocide by promoting coffee production among poor farmers. The project's success demonstrated that good technology, markets, and a moral and legal framework can replace illicit activities such as opium production. The role of technology in conflict resolution was further examined through the lens of ethnicity and resources. The study highlighted the importance of understanding the complex relationships between communities and their environments. By providing farmers with access to technology, markets, and training, the initiative aimed to promote peace and stability in conflict-prone regions. The project's findings suggested that technology can level the playing field between competing communities, allowing them to compete peacefully. The initiative's success in Rwanda and other regions demonstrated the potential for technology to promote peace and stability in conflict-prone areas.
