Abstract
The program aims to support small producers' organizations in acquiring skills and abilities to develop social business models, preparing them to mobilize connections with potential partners in the private sector. CELI-Central has made significant progress in implementing its activities, with a 76% completion rate in terms of the number of activities implemented and a 91% cumulative progress for quarters Q1, Q2, and Q3. The program has committed resources totaling USD$26.6 million, with 39 approved activities. The four regional offices have presented comprehensive integrated activities that support small producers' organizations in developing social business models. A total of 69 organizations across the four regions have been identified and assessed, with main productive lines including cocoa, coffee, rubber, fruits, and cattle-ranching. These organizations require a tailor-made approach depending on their degree of development. The expected outcomes of these activities include strong organizational structures, the participative creation of a business plan with a strategic vision for development, improved planning and marketing capacities, and training to foster a generational shift. The four integrated activities have a total value of $13.4 million and will be carried out throughout 2014-2015. These activities are designed to support small producers' organizations in developing their capacities and preparing them to mobilize connections with potential partners in the private sector.
