Construction Monthly Progress Report 13 – May 2016

The project is co-funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD). The objective of this Task Order is to rehabilitate the existing road that connects Al Jalameh crossing checkpoint to the Qabatiya-Tubas Road. The road will serve as a bypass around the eastern side of the Jenin Municipality, reducing traffic congestion within the city center. It will carry commercial traffic to and from Al Jalameh crossing in the northern portion of the West Bank, as well as provide improved access to Arab American University. The project is expected to induce new development, increase road safety, and reduce travel time through the area. The project is an Indefinite Quantity Contract, with a contract value of USD 14,688,396.00. The contract was awarded on April 22, 2015, and the Notice to Proceed (NTP) date was May 18, 2015. The project has a contractual period of performance of 360 calendar days, which was later modified to 396 calendar days. During the reporting period of May 1-31, 2016, the contractor, The Morganti Group, Inc., made significant progress on the project. The contractor completed various activities, including site preparation, excavation, and paving. The project team also conducted regular safety inspections and implemented quality control measures to ensure the project's quality and safety standards. The project's safety record is satisfactory, with no major incidents reported during the reporting period. The contractor has also implemented measures to mitigate environmental impacts, including the use of dust-reducing measures and proper waste disposal. The project's progress is being closely monitored by the project team, which includes representatives from USAID, DFATD, and the Palestinian Authority. The project's progress is also being tracked through regular site visits and inspections.
