Designing Effective eVidence-based Engagement and Learning for Organizational Performance (DEVELOP) Bi-Annual Report

The project focuses on four key workstreams: organizational development, professional development of USAID educational staff, knowledge management, and strategic communications. DEVELOP's core work is represented by 14 intermediate results and 27 performance indicators that will be tracked and reported on annually. During the first six months of implementation, DEVELOP initiated and informed a range of strategic and systems-strengthening activities. Staffing plans were activated, and project management tools and protocols were rapidly rolled out. A Year 1 work plan, a quality assurance surveillance plan, and an activity monitoring, evaluation, and learning plan were developed. The knowledge management and strategic communications workstreams have seen significant progress, with an expanding portfolio of organizational development support and growing demands in professional development. DEVELOP has designed and is rolling out seven buy-ins with USAID operating units, including the Center for Economics and Market Development, the Africa Bureau, Office of Sustainable Development, Education and Youth Division, and the Local, Faith, and Transformative Partnerships Hub. These buy-ins aim to leverage DEVELOP's expertise and resources to support the development of organizational capacity across the Agency. The project's progress has been marked by the completion of 33 percent of the projected 155 activities in Year 1, with an additional 47 percent currently underway. The DEVELOP project's focus on organizational development, professional development, knowledge management, and strategic communications is critical to strengthening USAID's Center for Education's capacity to lead in the education sector.
