Abstract
The DEC contains approximately 200,000 documents, providing a comprehensive search of the Agency's institutional memory. The DEC is a permanent repository of Agency documents, making it easier to find and access information. USAID requires the submission of development experience materials to the DEC, as outlined in ADS Chapter 540. The DEC is a platform for documenting development experience, including planning, implementation, and results. It also allows for the sharing of experiences, with features such as commenting, tagging, and sharing. The DEC is a valuable resource for USAID staff, contractors, and partners, providing access to a wide range of documents, including program policy and strategy planning documents, reviews, development activity analysis, design, and authorization documents, performance, results, and evaluation reports. The DEC is also a platform for USAID-supported research, technical reports, publications, and publications. USAID contractors and grantees are required to submit documents to the DEC, as outlined in ADS 540.3.2.3. The DEC provides a checklist for submitting documents, ensuring that all required information is included. The checklist includes items such as checking for duplicates, ensuring that the document is final and approved, and verifying that all parts are included. The DEC also provides guidelines for preparing evaluation reports, as outlined in the document "Preparing Evaluation Reports" available on the USAID website. The DEC requires that documents be submitted in a specific format, including the document title, publication date, language, and language of the document. The DEC is accessible through the USAID website, and documents can be submitted directly to the DEC for immediate access. The submission process requires the use of Internet Explorer and includes the completion of a form with the document title, publication date, language, and language of the document, as well as the inclusion of USAID contract number(s).
