Abstract
The activity aims to improve the functioning of national seed sectors in focus countries in an inclusive manner, supporting all farmers, including women farmers and youth. The overarching goal of the activity is to increase the capacity of the formal and informal seed systems and humanitarian and relief programming to sustainably offer quality, affordable seeds of a range of crops. The activity is led by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) with support from partners, including Agri Experience (AE), Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (the Alliance), Pan-African Bean Research Alliance (PABRA), and Opportunity International (OI). The activity's Life of Activity (LOA) runs from August 2018 through August 2023. The activity's objectives include increasing the capacity of the formal and informal seed systems to sustainably offer quality, affordable seeds of a range of crops and increasing collaboration and coordination among all seed systems actors and actions. The activity's branding strategy outlines efforts to ensure all public communications and materials regarding the Feed the Future Global Supporting Seed Systems for Development (S34D) are consistent, impactful, and help enhance the visibility and value of the Feed the Future brand. The marking plan helps ensure uniform application of graphic identifies or logos to program materials to visibly acknowledge contributors and supporters. The activity will follow all branding and marking guidelines required and outlined by both Feed the Future and USAID's ADS Chapter 320. The activity will use the name Feed the Future Global Supporting Seed Systems for Development activity for this activity and in all communications and materials directed to beneficiaries and cooperating country citizens. The Feed the Future Global Supporting Seed Systems for Development (S34D) activity can also be referred to, in a shortened form, as S34D or activity, in certain situations with space or size limitations. CRS and its consortium partners will use the exclusive branding and the USAID message: "This [product name] was made possible by the generous support from the American people through the U.S. Government's Feed the Future Initiative and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through Cooperative Agreement 7200AA18LE00004. The contents are the responsibility of Catholic Relief Services and do not necessarily reflect the views of USAID or the United States Government." The activity will be branded as part of the Feed the Future Global Supporting Seed Systems for Development activity in all materials and events. All materials will acknowledge that they were produced with support "from the American people." In cases where a local language predominates above English, the appropriate translation into the local language will be used in branding the activity. The activity will also include a statement at the beginning of each presentation or training session that the technical assistance provided and other program services are made possible because of "assistance from the American people."
