Abstract
The project focused on four strategic objectives: increasing income and diversification through on-farm opportunities, increasing income and diversification through off-farm livelihood options, increasing income through gainful employment, and increasing innovation, scaling, and sustainability of livelihood pathways. The project's implementation in the Oromia region, covering 10 woredas, involved various activities, including farmer training programs, infrastructure development, and market linkage facilitation. The project also focused on off-farm livelihood options, including men, women, and youth engaging in off-farm activities, accessing financial and business development services, and increasing diversification of off-farm income-generating activities and non-farm enterprises. Jobseekers adopted increased use of employment knowledge, skills, and information for job-seeking, and were linked with prospective employers. The project also aimed to improve layering, sequencing, and cost-effectiveness of interventions, identify and address knowledge gaps, successes, and failures, and utilize innovation grants for sustained innovation, scaling, and sustainability of livelihood pathways. The project's monitoring, evaluation, and learning (ME&L) activities included data quality assessments, joint review and implementation support, and livelihood community facilitators. The project also established a multi-stakeholder platform to ensure coordination and collaboration among stakeholders. The project's financial status was reported, and annexes provided additional information on progress against the annual workplan, accrual report, success stories, and barrier analysis to promote financial linkage to the Productive Safety Net Program (PSNP IV) beneficiaries in the Oromia region.
