Abstract
The framework was designed to identify facilitators and barriers to the adoption of immunization-related toolkits and guidance. The MAKLab activity involved a desk review of relevant gray and published literature, as well as key informant interviews with practitioners. The resulting framework outlined evidence-based characteristics of a resource that support uptake and use, as well as evidence-based factors associated with resource uptake and use. The framework was designed to be adaptable for use by frontline health workers and implementers. The manuscript submitted to the Journal of Global Health Science and Practice provides an overview of the MAKLab activity and the development of the framework. The framework is intended to increase the spread of key learnings generated through MAKLab work and to advance the global dialogue around promoting the uptake and use of immunization-related resources. The manuscript highlights the importance of considering broader factors at the frontline, organization, local, sub-national, and national levels that support implementation. It emphasizes the need to ensure that resources are designed to support implementation and to address the challenges faced by frontline health workers and implementers. The manuscript also discusses the importance of ongoing collaboration in supporting the development of work products. The collaboration between MAKLab and M-RITE provided a foundation for the development of the framework and facilitated the sharing of findings with a broader audience. The framework outlined in the manuscript provides a framework for evaluating existing toolkits and guidance, as well as a framework for developing new resources that are designed to support implementation. The framework is intended to be adaptable for use by a range of stakeholders, including frontline health workers, implementers, and policymakers. The manuscript submitted to the Journal of Global Health Science and Practice provides a comprehensive overview of the MAKLab activity and the development of the framework. It highlights the importance of considering the broader factors that support implementation and the need to ensure that resources are designed to support implementation. The manuscript also emphasizes the importance of ongoing collaboration and the need for strong communication among authors.
