Abstract
The project was implemented in four states: Coahuila, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, and Tabasco. The project's main objective was to increase the number of agreements reached through the Specialized Chamber for Peace (SCP) and to improve the discipline of the process. In Coahuila, the project began in 2018 with the goal of increasing the number of agreements reached through the SCP. Initial statistics from January 2018 showed that 12 agreements had been reached, with 10 of them being agreements for reparations. The project implemented several activities to increase the number of agreements, including training for judges and prosecutors, and the creation of a database to track the progress of cases. By the end of the project, the number of agreements had increased to 25, with 22 of them being agreements for reparations. The project's success was measured by the increase in the number of agreements reached through the SCP, as well as the improvement in the discipline of the process. The project's findings and recommendations were presented to the states' authorities, with the goal of sustaining the project's results and improving the administration of justice in Mexico. The project's recommendations for each state included the need to continue training judges and prosecutors, as well as the creation of a database to track the progress of cases. Additionally, the project recommended the establishment of a specialized unit within the SCP to handle cases related to reparations. The project also identified several risks to the sustainability of the project, including the lack of resources and the need for continued support from the states' authorities. Overall, the Promoviendo la Justicia project in Mexico was successful in increasing the number of agreements reached through the SCP and improving the discipline of the process. The project's findings and recommendations provide valuable insights for the improvement of the administration of justice in Mexico.
