Abstract
Agency for International Development. ICED II aims to assist the Indonesian government in developing effective policies, a controlled environment, and promoting low-emission development in the energy sector, while attracting public and private sector investment in clean energy development. The project also aims to support the development of clean energy technology and human capacity in the energy sector. ICED II is considered a continuation of the ICED project, which ended on February 17, 2015. ICED II focuses on the status of ICED's interventions at the end of its implementation period, changes in the Indonesian government's partners and the clean energy market, rebuilding partnerships with public and private sector partners, and leveraging the momentum of the ICED project to achieve its goals and target outcomes. The main objective of the ICED II project is to strengthen the foundation for a low-carbon energy system in Indonesia. The project's components contribute to the Indonesian government's target of increasing access and resilience in the low-carbon energy sector, while supporting national efforts to control greenhouse gas emissions. ICED II is implemented through three parallel and complementary components: 1. Component 1: Improving the enabling environment to accelerate joint investment in clean energy. 2. Component 2: Accelerating joint mobilization of investment between the private and public sectors. 3. Component 3: Supporting the development of clean energy technology and human capacity. The project is implemented in Indonesia, with a focus on the national level and regional development. The project's geographic scope includes the entire country, with a focus on the national government and regional development agencies. The ICED II project is designed to achieve several outcomes, including: * Improved policies and regulations for clean energy development * Increased investment in clean energy * Improved capacity of government agencies and private sector partners * Increased adoption of clean energy technologies * Reduced greenhouse gas emissions The project's implementation is led by Tetra Tech ES, Inc., with support from the Indonesian government and other stakeholders. The project's progress and outcomes are monitored and evaluated through regular reporting and assessments. In 2018, ICED II supported several key activities, including: * The development of a clean energy policy framework * The establishment of a clean energy technology and innovation fund * The provision of training and capacity-building programs for government agencies and private sector partners * The promotion of clean energy investment and financing mechanisms Overall, the ICED II project aims to contribute to the development of a low-carbon energy system in Indonesia, while supporting the country's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development.
