Abstract
The task order is managed by the E3 Bureau Office of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment and has a period of performance from September 17, 2019, to September 16, 2024. Banyan Global is implementing the GITA II Task Order, which provides on-demand, rapid-response, short-term technical assistance to USAID Missions and Bureaus across multiple sectors and in crisis and non-crisis settings. The task order applies expertise in gender research and practice to the process of designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating USAID strategies, projects, and activities to reduce the gender and women's empowerment gaps that impede development outcomes. During the quarter from June 15 to September 15, 2020, Banyan Global and USAID carried out various activities under the GITA II operations. These activities included bi-weekly meetings to discuss the status of current and future work orders, preparations and work on new work orders, and continued work on existing work orders. Banyan Global began work on two new work orders: USAID/Madagascar FY2021-2024 CDCS Gender Analysis and Health Project Appraisal Document, and USAID Women's Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative. The company also began work on one new task under the GITA II Primary work order to develop a USAID COVID-Specific Gender Job Aid Tool and to carry out COVID-Specific activity-level gender analyses for USAID missions. The GITA II Primary work order captures work carried out that is directly related to work order preparation under the GITA II Task Order. This includes kick-off calls with USAID missions to carry out preliminary discussions on the SOW and budget for future work orders, scope of work (SOW) and budget development, approval package submission, consultant recruitment and approval processes, and other activities directly tied to the inception of the upcoming GITA II work orders. In this quarter, Banyan Global performed various tasks under the GITA II Primary work order, including SOW and budget development for USAID/GenDev GBV Portfolio Technical Support, and development of a SOW, budget, and report templates for activity-level COVID-specific gender analyses. Banyan Global also developed a USAID job aid tool and report template for USAID missions to carry out COVID-specific gender analyses. The job aid tool provides an overview of USAID's gender-analysis requirements, sector-related considerations, illustrative questions, and illustrative programmatic practices to address gender-related risks associated with COVID-19. Banyan Global submitted the first version of the job aid tool and report template on June 27, 2020, and the latest version of these tools on September 4, 2020. Banyan Global research teams are carrying out activity-level analyses using the tool and report template for various USAID missions, including Burkina Faso, Central Asia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominican Republic, The Gambia, India, Mali, Niger, Peru, and Vietnam. The company has also developed a learning agenda for the COVID-specific analyses to support improvements in the job aid tool and report template. The GITA II Task Order has a ceiling price of $7,295,806 and a current obligated amount of $5,702,090. The task order is managed by the E3 Bureau Office of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment, and the Contracting Officer is Shannon White. The COR is Bonnie K. Robinson.
