HIVSS Data Summary for the Province of KwaZulu-Natal reports on the number of clients tested for HIV and the results of those tests.

Abstract
The data is collected from various facilities across the province and is categorized by age, sex, and key population group. Male primary clients aged 15-19 years accounted for 12.5% of all primary clients tested, while female primary clients in the same age group made up 10.3% of the total. The majority of primary clients, 55.6%, were between the ages of 25-34 years. Key population groups, including men who have sex with men (MSM) and female sex workers (FSW), comprised 14.1% and 8.5% of primary clients, respectively. Screening kits issued for primary clients included blood and oral tests, with 85.7% of clients receiving blood tests and 14.3% receiving oral tests. The majority of primary clients, 92.1%, were tested using assisted methods, while 7.9% were tested using un-assisted methods. The results of the tests showed that 12.5% of primary clients were reactive, while 87.5% were non-reactive. Secondary clients, who were referred from primary clients, made up 21.4% of all clients tested. The majority of secondary clients, 55.6%, were between the ages of 25-34 years. Key population groups, including MSM and FSW, comprised 14.1% and 8.5% of secondary clients, respectively. The results of the tests showed that 12.5% of secondary clients were reactive, while 87.5% were non-reactive. The majority of clients, 71.4%, were tested in facilities, while 21.4% were tested in communities and 7.1% were tested in workplaces.
