Abstract
The project aims to improve Palestinians' access to basic infrastructure and services by rehabilitating and constructing roads, water, and wastewater projects. The objective of this Task Order is to build upon the 28 km of phase I Trunk Sewers implemented by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and expand the collection system through the construction of the Phase 1A Branch Sewers. The project involves the construction of approximately 12.5 km of 8” diameter uPVC main sewers, 468 precast reinforced concrete manholes, 2.0 km of 6” service laterals, 585 connection pits, and 0.81 km of paved roads. The project also includes the procurement of one combination Jet Vacuum Sewer Maintenance Truck. The project is located in Jericho Governorate in Area A, and the estimated completion date is October 2, 2015. The project has made significant progress since the start of construction on February 5, 2015. As of March 2015, the contract elapsed time is 43.94%, and the actual percentage of completion is 19.10%. However, a negative float of 14 days has occurred due to delays in manholes furnishing works, particularly in installing manholes benches and internal lining. The Morganti Group, Inc. has committed to accelerating the implementation of these activities during the next reporting period to avoid the negative float. Safety is a top priority for the project, and The Morganti Group, Inc. has implemented various measures to ensure the safety of workers and the public. The traffic plan has been divided into three cases, and special safety and traffic plans have been submitted to the Construction Management Contractor (CMC) for acceptance. Safety meetings have been conducted regularly, and tool box meetings have been held with all staff to discuss safety issues and responsibilities. The project has also made significant progress in terms of environmental compliance. The Morganti Group, Inc. has implemented measures to minimize the impact of the project on the environment, including the use of safety signs and the installation of Reverse Alarms on equipment. The project has also distributed a safety handbook in Arabic to all attendees. In terms of community outreach, The Morganti Group, Inc. has implemented measures to engage with the local community and minimize disruptions to traffic and daily life. The project has also implemented measures to ensure that children, students, old people, and special needs cases can cross the construction site safely. The project has made significant progress in terms of material and equipment delivery, with over 90% of the materials and equipment required for the project having been delivered to site. The project has also made significant progress in terms of progress and scheduling, with the actual percentage of completion exceeding the planned percentage of completion. The project has also made significant progress in terms of quality control and test results, with over 90% of the quality control and test results having been completed. The project has also made significant progress in terms of submittals, with over 90% of the submittals having been completed. In terms of obstacles and challenges, the project has faced delays in manholes furnishing works, particularly in installing manholes benches and internal lining. However, The Morganti Group, Inc. has committed to accelerating the implementation of these activities during the next reporting period to avoid the negative float. Overall, the Jericho Collection System Expansion – Phase 1A Branch Sewers-JCSI project is making significant progress, and The Morganti Group, Inc. is committed to ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget.
