Abstract
PES, consisting of a facesheet only, covers the period 3/82-9/84 and is based on an attached special evaluation (XD-AAR-250-A). The attached evaluation verifies IEPD"s significant progress in creating awareness among Dominican public and private sector opinion leaders of the relationships between population variables and development objectives. The evaluation"s 20 recommendations have been divided into three action areas: staffing; communication; and funding. Most have already been implemented by IEPD. An action plan is being devised to resolve the remaining issues: (1) expanding the duties and responsibilities of the senior social scientist and an economist; (2) formalizing a dissemination strategy, and developing a new information and communication plan; and (3) developing a plan to insure funding for future IEPD activities.
