Abstract
The project aims to increase the resilience of vulnerable communities in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region to violent extremist organizations (VEOs) and promote inclusive and sustainable development. The project has three main sub-purposes: increasing access to quality services for at-risk groups, enhancing Moroccan-led CVE initiatives, and strengthening community resilience. The project's results and activities are reported in the quarterly report for the fourth quarter of 2021. During the reporting period, the project continued to implement its activities, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project's One-Stop-Shops (OSSs) innovated to keep youth engaged and motivated, despite the pandemic's impact on their activities. The OSSs organized summer activities for 1,163 youths, including debating, media production, visual arts, science, and sports. The project also reported a good performance level in schools, with 89% of primary school participants and 72% of secondary school participants passing the year. The project's vocational teams ran outreach campaigns to draw idle and discouraged youths to the Vocational Counseling Service, enrolling 774 individuals, including 43% women. The project also reported an increase in household confidence, from 63 points in the second quarter to 65.5 points in the third quarter. The project's overall duration is 58 months, from June 14, 2018, to March 31, 2024.
