Abstract
The project's scope includes upgrading a total of 2.1 km of the Anata Main Entrance Road and 2.3 km of Internal Roads, as well as upgrading 3.6 km of Al Menya Landfill Road. Construction works for Anata Road started on August 4, 2012, with excavation, subgrade preparation, gravity retaining walls, and basecourse layers for Internal Roads No. 1A, 1D, 1E, 02, 05, and 06. Main Road survey works were completed, and shop drawings were in process. For Al Menya Landfill Road, construction works started on August 16, 2012, with excavation and subgrade preparation for Roads No. 02 and 3157. During the reporting period, no Notices of Unsafe Conditions (NUC's) were issued, and zero accidents were reported. Coordination meetings were held with relevant authorities to facilitate project works, particularly in Areas B&C and Area C. Site visits were conducted to follow up on work progress, and meetings were held to discuss project impediments, challenges, and review progress of work. The accomplished work for Anata Road includes 100% survey works, 100% pre-construction submittals, 30% detour, and 52% shop drawings. For Al Menya Road, the accomplished work includes 100% survey works, 100% pre-construction submittals, 25% detour, and 70% shop drawings. The overall percentages of completion are 6.7% and 5.5% for Anata and Al Menya projects, respectively. The planned activities for the next month include submitting a detailed time schedule for the project and a one-month look-ahead, as well as a progress s-curve planned versus actual. No official Site Memos were issued, but site instructions were received from the Client Management Committee (CMC) by email. No Non-Compliance Reports (NCR's) were issued during the reporting period.
