Abstract
The project aims to improve the transmission of water supply to villages southwest of the Jenin municipality, enhance water storability by constructing new reservoirs, and provide a reliable, safe, and affordable water supply to the project area. The project is part of the USAID Mission Infrastructure Needs Program II (INP II), which focuses on the rehabilitation and construction of roads, schools, water, and wastewater projects to help the Palestinian economy by improving Palestinians' access to basic infrastructure and services. The project's objective is to upgrade the existing water supply system in the project area, which will benefit approximately 20,000 residents. The project is being implemented under an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) with a contract value of USD 12,949,433.37. The contract was awarded on September 22, 2015, and the Notice to Proceed (NTP) was issued on October 26, 2015. The project's completion date was initially set for February 16, 2017, but was later modified to March 22, 2017, due to variations in the scope of work. The project location spans across several villages in the Jenin Governorate, including Arraba, Kuferit, Ajja, Kafr Rai', Jalqamus, Al Mutilla, Meithalun, and Sanur. The project's geographical scope includes Area A, B, and C, which are under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority. The project's construction activities commenced on December 27, 2015, and are expected to be completed within the modified contractual period of performance, which is 514 calendar days. The project's implementation is being carried out by The Morganti Group, Inc., in collaboration with the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) and other stakeholders.
