Abstract
The project aims to improve the transmission of water supply to villages southwest of the Jenin municipality, enhance water storability by constructing new reservoirs, and provide a reliable, safe, and affordable water supply to the project area. The project is part of the USAID Mission Infrastructure Needs Program II (INP II), which focuses on the rehabilitation and construction of roads, schools, water, and wastewater projects. The USAID objective is to help the Palestinian economy by improving Palestinians' access to basic infrastructure and services. The project was awarded to The Morganti Group, Inc. on September 22, 2015, with a contract value of USD 12,949,433.37. The project's completion date was initially set for February 16, 2017, but was later modified to March 22, 2017, due to variations in the contract. The project location spans across several villages in the Jenin Governorate, including Arraba, Kuferit, Ajja, Kafr Rai', Jalqamus, Al Mutilla, Meithalun, and Sanur. The project involves the construction of new reservoirs, upgrades to the existing water supply system, and the provision of a reliable, safe, and affordable water supply to the project area. The project's key map, Figure 1, illustrates the project's location and scope. The project's construction activities began on December 27, 2015, and are expected to be completed by March 22, 2017. The project's contractual period of performance is 514 calendar days, with a modified BOQ line item amount of USD 12,552,306.14. The project's implementation is being monitored and managed by The Morganti Group, Inc., in collaboration with the USAID Mission and other stakeholders. The project's progress is being reported on a monthly basis, with the latest report covering the period from October 1, 2016, to October 31, 2016. The project's safety and environmental compliance are being ensured through regular monitoring and reporting. The project's risk management plan is also in place to mitigate potential risks and ensure the project's successful completion. The project's community outreach and gender action plan are also being implemented to ensure that the project's benefits are equitably distributed among all stakeholders, particularly women and vulnerable groups. The project's coordination and meetings with stakeholders are being conducted regularly to ensure that the project's progress is aligned with the stakeholders' expectations. The project's site visitors, including USAID officials and other stakeholders, are being regularly updated on the project's progress and any issues that may arise. The project's material and equipment delivery on site is being monitored and reported on a regular basis. The project's progress and scheduling are being closely monitored to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget. The project's indicators, including the completion of construction activities, the provision of a reliable water supply, and the improvement of water storability, are being closely monitored to ensure that the project's objectives are met. The project's working and non-working days are being closely monitored to ensure that the project's construction activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. The project's site memos, quality control and test results, inspection requests, noncompliance report log, and other relevant documents are being regularly updated and reported on. The project's annexes, including the materials-equipment receiving log, original time schedule, updated time schedule, one-month look-ahead schedule, progress S-curve, site memos log, inspection request log, test report log, submittal log, request for information log, letters and correspondence with USAID, payments, and geo-MIS data, provide additional information on the project's implementation and progress.
