Abstract
The project aims to provide a more reliable and frequent water supply to 70% of Dura city's population, which is approximately 27,723 people. The project scope of work includes the construction of a new Dura at-grade reservoir with a capacity of 2,000 m³, construction of new main transmission pipelines, and expansion of the Dura distribution network pipelines. The project is being implemented by Arab Brothers Construction & Infrastructure Group, with AECOM as the Construction Management Contractor. The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is expected to be completed by October 31, 2018. The contract value is $4,165,648.40, and the original project duration was 330 calendar days. As of September 30, 2018, the project has achieved 74.25% of its planned completion, with a contract elapsed time of 91.71%. The project has implemented various safety measures, including providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to laborers and employees, conducting safety tool box meetings, and ensuring compliance with safety and health requirements. The project has also implemented various safety measures during specific activities, such as installing formwork, casting concrete for the reservoir's roof slab, and installing chambers. The project has a total of 39 safety tool box meetings (STBMs) conducted for laborers and employees, with 4 STBMs conducted during this reporting period. The topics discussed during these meetings included safety measures during repair work inside and outside the reservoir. The project has also implemented measures to ensure compliance with environmental requirements, including providing first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency numbers at the site. The project has a total of 27,723 beneficiaries, and the planned completion date is October 31, 2018. The project has achieved 74.25% of its planned completion, with a contract elapsed time of 91.71%. The project has implemented various safety measures and has not reported any accidents or notices of unsafe conditions during this reporting period.
