Abstract
The document emphasizes the need for accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services for youth across the country. Primary healthcare should focus on sexual and reproductive health, including education programs on sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS. Implementation of these recommendations involves the establishment of youth-friendly health centers within clinics and hospitals, as well as sensitization of youth to access healthcare services. Specific trainings should be arranged for doctors and health workers to provide youth-friendly services. Trained and qualified healthcare personnel should be deployed to rural areas to address the health needs of young people in these regions. The document also emphasizes the importance of mainstreaming health education, including life skills, into school curricula and programs designed for out-of-school youth. Particular emphasis should be placed on understanding basic hygiene requirements and developing a healthy environment. Local youth health associations should be established in partnership with local government and NGOs to promote good peer education on sexual reproductive health programs. Furthermore, the document recommends creating awareness among youth and preventive education programs for youth on sexually transmitted infections (STIs)/sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and the use of contraception. Strengthening local, national, regional, and international partnerships is also essential to eradicate the demand, supply, and trafficking of drugs that target youth. Youth organizations should play a key role in designing and implementing sexual reproductive education programs and individual counseling. The document also highlights the importance of promoting personal responsibility for a healthy lifestyle and providing knowledge and skills necessary to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Forced marriages and marriages below the age of 18 should be prohibited, and strategies should be designed to reduce early marriages among girls through economic empowerment programs like skills training and business development. Ensuring the right to life, everyone should have easy access to sexual and reproductive health facilities as well as legal and economic provisions to facilitate access to such facilities. A liberal and secured environment should be created where every youngster is free to enjoy and control their sexual and reproductive life. The recommendations outlined in this document aim to address the health concerns of young people in Pakistan and provide a framework for policymakers and stakeholders to work towards creating a healthier and more supportive environment for youth.
