The Fast Track initiative in Ukraine aimed to improve the quality of HIV services in the country.

Abstract
The initiative began in 2014 and was implemented by the USAID RESPOND program. The program focused on improving the quality of HIV services in 10 regions of Ukraine, including Chernihiv, Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. The initiative involved several key components, including the implementation of the Quality Improvement Model, which aimed to improve the quality of HIV services in the regions. The model involved the establishment of a regional coordination team, which included a regional coordinator, a quality of care coordinator, a data coordinator, a quality of care mentor, and a team of medical facility experts. The initiative also involved the implementation of projects to integrate key components (KCs) into primary care and TB services. The KCs included antiretroviral therapy (ART), viral load testing, and other essential services. The initiative also focused on improving the quality of care for people living with HIV, including those who were on ART, those who were on viral load testing, and those who had an undetermined level of viral load. The initiative involved several key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, the National AIDS Center, and the regional health departments. The initiative also involved the establishment of a national expert group, which included experts from the Ministry of Health, the National AIDS Center, and other organizations. The initiative aimed to achieve several key objectives, including improving the quality of HIV services, increasing the number of people on ART, and reducing the number of people with undetermined viral load levels. The initiative also aimed to improve the quality of care for people living with HIV, including those who were on ART, those who were on viral load testing, and those who had an undetermined level of viral load. The initiative involved several key activities, including the development of a quality improvement model, the establishment of a regional coordination team, the implementation of projects to integrate KCs into primary care and TB services, and the establishment of a national expert group. The initiative also involved the provision of technical assistance to the regional health departments and the Ministry of Health.
