Abstract
PATTA has engaged the private sector to adapt, commercialize, promote, and disseminate affordable, effective, and appropriate agricultural technologies to smallholder farmers in Pakistan. PATTA's geographic coverage spans across five provinces: Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The activity has partnered with various private and public organizations, including Agri Tech Industries, Ali Akbar Group, and the Agriculture Department of the Government of Punjab. The activity's primary objective is to create jobs and increase incomes in the agriculture sector. PATTA has made significant progress in achieving this goal, with a total estimated cost of $8,171,832. The activity has also engaged with various supply-side partners, including SSPs, to promote and disseminate agricultural technologies to smallholder farmers. Under component one, PATTA coordinated with its supply-side partners to promote and disseminate agricultural technologies. The activity also customized its technology promotion goals through various innovative approaches, such as online platforms and social media campaigns, to reach smallholder farmers despite the COVID-19 related challenges. PATTA's progress in Year 4 is outlined in the report, which highlights the activity's contributions to Pakistan's agriculture sector as per the targets approved in the Year 4 work plan. The report includes progress against key indicators, implementation challenges, and financial updates.
