Abstract
The project's primary objective is to reduce the manufacture and trafficking of cocaine, which is a significant concern for the US government due to the increased use of the drug in the past few years and Bolivia's status as a major source of this illicit substance. The project involves training 14 selected candidates in the field of narcotics and dangerous drugs, who will then conduct operations in areas where cocaine production and trafficking are prevalent. To achieve this objective, it is necessary to take several actions, including training, equipment provision, and the deployment of personnel. The training program consists of 14 weeks of instruction, during which the candidates will receive specialized training in the field of narcotics and dangerous drugs. In addition to the training program, the project also involves the provision of equipment and resources to the Bolivian National Police's Office of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. This includes the provision of firearms, vehicles, and other necessary equipment to enable the personnel to effectively perform their duties in suppressing and controlling the production and trafficking of cocaine. The project also includes the provision of financial support to the Bolivian National Police's Office of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, which will enable them to carry out their operations effectively. The financial support will be provided through a grant from USAID, which will cover the costs of equipment, personnel, and other necessary expenses. The project's implementation will be carried out in collaboration with the Bolivian National Police's Office of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, which will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the project. The project's success will be evaluated based on the reduction in cocaine production and trafficking in Bolivia, as well as the effectiveness of the training program and the provision of equipment and resources to the Bolivian National Police's Office of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. The project's budget is $1,567,000, which will cover the costs of equipment, personnel, and other necessary expenses. The project's duration is 24 months, during which time the training program will be implemented, and the equipment and resources will be provided to the Bolivian National Police's Office of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. The project's success will have a significant impact on the reduction of cocaine production and trafficking in Bolivia, which will contribute to the improvement of the country's security situation and the reduction of the negative effects of cocaine use on the Bolivian population.
