Plano Municipal de Desenvolvimento Sanitário (PMDS) do Cachiungo

The PMDS aims to expand essential and basic health services to the population, in line with the programs outlined by the Angolan government, particularly in the fight against major endemic diseases and improving health indicators. The PMDS is a result of the collaboration between the Municipal Administration of Cachiungo and the local authorities, with the goal of developing a comprehensive plan for the municipality's health development. The plan focuses on reducing the incidence of diseases affecting the population, which often reside in areas with difficult access. The PMDS is divided into seven programs, which include: Programa I - Prevenção e Luta Contra as Doenças Prioritárias, Programa II - Cuidados Primários e Assistência Hospitalar, Programa III - Planeamento, Gestão e Desenvolvimento de Recursos Humanos, Programa IV - Gestão e Ampliação da Rede Sanitária, Programa V - Gestão, Aprovisionamento e Logística, Desenvolvimento do Sector Farmacêutico e dos Dispositivos Médicos, Programa VI - Desenvolvimento do Sistema de Informação e Gestão Sanitária, and Programa VII - Desenvolvimento do Quadro Institucional. Programa I focuses on the prevention and control of priority diseases, including diseases transmissible by vectors, immunopreventable diseases, and neglected diseases. Programa II focuses on primary care and hospital assistance, including the promotion of healthy habits and lifestyles, and the operationalization of primary care services. Programa III focuses on the planning, management, and development of human resources in health, including the training of health professionals and the recruitment of new staff. Programa IV focuses on the management and expansion of the health network, including the development of infrastructure and the provision of equipment and supplies. Programa V focuses on the management, provision, and logistics of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, including the development of the sector and the provision of training to health professionals. Programa VI focuses on the development of the health information system and management, including the provision of data and statistics to support decision-making. Programa VII focuses on the development of the institutional framework, including the establishment of a health inspection service and the development of a health information system. The PMDS also includes a quadro de execução, which outlines the coordination of activities, the responsible organisms and bodies, and the mechanisms and instruments for follow-up and evaluation. The plan also includes a bibliography of support, a technical sheet, and annexes, including a boletim epidemiológico municipal and an identification of problems and selection of priorities. The PMDS is a comprehensive plan that aims to improve the health of the population of Cachiungo, Huambo, and to reduce the incidence of diseases affecting the population. The plan is divided into seven programs, which focus on different aspects of health development, including the prevention and control of diseases, primary care and hospital assistance, the planning and management of human resources, the management and expansion of the health network, the management and provision of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, the development of the health information system and management, and the development of the institutional framework.
