Abstract
The rights of clients seeking PAC services are fundamental to ensuring their well-being and safety. These rights include access to information, choice, safety, privacy, confidentiality, dignity, comfort, continuity, and opinion. Information on the benefits of PAC is essential for clients to make informed decisions about their health. This includes knowledge of related family planning and reproductive health services, as well as information on where and how to obtain these services. Clients have the right to receive PAC services from health facilities or existing programs, regardless of their status or geographical location. They should be free from barriers related to unjustifiable policies, standards, and practices. Decision-making is a critical aspect of PAC services. Clients have the right to decide freely from which facility or provider to access PAC services. They should also be able to choose a family planning method that suits their needs and preferences. A safe environment is essential for PAC services, with competent providers and infection prevention measures in place. Clients have the right to a private environment during counseling and physical examination, with assurance that any personal information will remain confidential. Confidentiality is a fundamental right in PAC services. Shared confidentiality will be maintained for the benefit of the client. Clients have the right to be treated with courtesy, consideration, and attentiveness, with respect to their dignity, regardless of age, social, educational, or other characteristics. They should feel comfortable during service provision and receive adequate and high-quality care that addresses physical and emotional aspects, including the use of appropriate pain management. Family planning and reproductive health services, including follow-up and other health services, are essential components of PAC. Clients have the right to express their views regarding the services they receive, ensuring that their needs and preferences are met. By upholding these rights, health facilities and providers can ensure that clients receive comprehensive and respectful care, ultimately improving health outcomes and reducing maternal mortality rates.
