Abstract
The contract, which began in 2018, focuses on providing a wide range of communication services, including project management, strategic communications, and event logistics. During the second year of the contract, which spanned from August 1, 2020, to July 31, 2021, the PACS team faced challenges due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. However, the team adapted and delivered quality products, including virtual event support, meeting facilitation, and communications materials. The PACS team worked on 182 tasks during the reporting period, with 134 tasks closed, 20 tasks rolled over, and 18 tasks classified as short-fuse. The team consisted of Program Manager Lois Moodley, Senior Graphic Designer Nadine Schenck, Administrative Assistant Khosi Xaba, and Tetra Tech Communications Advisor Ryan Kilpatrick. The team achieved several wins during the past year, including improved collaboration with the client, expanded videography services, and training for the client. The team also produced a communications guide and a photo and video guide to standardize Power Africa's brand and storytelling. One of the notable events hosted by the PACS team was the Power Africa Partners Week, which was adapted to a virtual platform due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The event featured an interactive virtual platform, live Q&A sessions, and live tech support, with over 700 registered attendees. The team also hosted several other events, including the ReCharge Webinar Series, the Health Facility Electrification — Information Session, and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation — Virtual Q&A for Distributed Renewable Energy Call for Applications. The PACS team provided technical assistance and graphic design support for these events, including designing agendas, holding slides, and providing technical assistance during the events. The team also facilitated the Implementing Partners Meeting and the Program Office (MEL Deep Dive) event, which required compiling presentations, taking notes, and compiling a final report. Throughout the reporting period, the PACS team demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in the face of challenges, delivering high-quality products and services to support Power Africa's communications objectives. The team's achievements and successes during the past year have strengthened the partnership between Power Africa and the PACS team, and have contributed to the advancement of Power Africa's goals and objectives.
