Abstract
The training programs emphasized the importance of conservation agriculture, integrated pest management, and post-harvest handling techniques. Farmers were also provided with access to improved seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation equipment. The initiative's market linkage facilitation component aimed to connect farmers with buyers and improve market access. This involved the establishment of a commodity exchange platform and the provision of market information services to farmers. The evaluation also highlighted the importance of community engagement and participation in the initiative's success. Local leaders and extension agents played a crucial role in promoting the adoption of new practices and technologies among farmers. The initiative's impact was also assessed in terms of its contribution to Rwanda's national development goals. The evaluation found that the initiative had made significant contributions to the country's agricultural growth and poverty reduction targets. The initiative's success was attributed to its focus on sustainable agriculture practices, market access, and community engagement. The findings of the midterm evaluation informed the initiative's scaling up and replication in other parts of the country.
