Quarterly Performance Report – July 1–September 30, 2023: Energy Infrastructure Monitoring Services (EIMS)

The team conducted monitoring and inspection visits to all three project sites: Kurram Tangi Dam Project (KTDP) Stage 1, Mangla Dam Rehabilitation Project (MDRP), and Tarbela Dam Repair and Maintenance Project Phase II (TDRP). A total of eight site visits were conducted during this reporting quarter, including three to MDRP, two to KTDP Stage 1, and three to TDRP sites. The EIMS inspection team certified a total of seven milestones during this quarter. Two MDRP milestones amounting to USD 9,300,000 were certified, along with two KTDP Stage 1 milestones amounting to USD 965,204, and three TDRP milestones amounting to USD 698,655. At MDRP, Units 5 and 6 are operating smoothly, with General Electric (GE) attending to the open punch-list items. The EIMS team also reported that the EPC contractor is making progress on the rehabilitation of the MDRP, with a total of 80% of the work completed. The EIMS team conducted a site visit to the KTDP Stage 1 site, where they reported that the construction of the dam is progressing well, with a total of 70% of the work completed. The team also reported that the EPC contractor is making progress on the installation of the turbines and generators. The EIMS team conducted a site visit to the TDRP site, where they reported that the repair and maintenance work is progressing well, with a total of 60% of the work completed. The team also reported that the EPC contractor is making progress on the installation of the new turbines and generators. The EIMS team also reported that the overall progress of the projects is satisfactory, with a total of 65% of the work completed. The team also reported that the EPC contractors are making progress on the installation of the new turbines and generators.
