Abstract
The activity targets multiple causes of poverty, food insecurity, and health issues to improve the overall well-being of both directly-assisted households and entire communities. The whole-systems approach developed under USAID-ACCESO is being utilized and expanded at farm, household, and community levels to address the needs of 13,771 client households. This includes 8,044 household clients who transitioned from USAID-ACCESO and are receiving technical assistance under ACCESS to Markets, as well as 5,727 new household clients incorporated since the Activity began. Agricultural sector productivity or food security training was provided to 4,225 new individuals, consisting of 2,719 men and 1,506 women. The production component accounted for the highest percentage (59 percent) of training, followed by animal production (11 percent), business skills (10 percent), and postharvest (5 percent). A total of 5,427 training events were carried out with 51,114 participants, including 41,967 male and 9,147 female. Technical assistance visits were made to 7,916 households, with the production component comprising the highest percentage (75 percent) of visits, followed by animal production (7 percent), business skills (6 percent), and postharvest (4 percent). The activity has achieved significant progress in increasing agricultural sector productivity, improving market access, and enhancing the overall well-being of client households. The activity has also made significant progress in improving access to financial services, with a total of 13,771 client households receiving technical assistance. The incorporation of new household clients has contributed to the growth of the activity, with 1,566 new clients added in the present quarter. The activity continues to build on the strong results and best practices delivered in Honduras, with a focus on improving the overall well-being of both directly-assisted households and entire communities. The activity's whole-systems approach has been successful in addressing the needs of client households, with a focus on increasing agricultural sector productivity, improving market access, and enhancing access to financial services. The activity has achieved significant progress in these areas, with a total of 23,394 individuals receiving agricultural sector productivity or food security training, and 175,787 participants in training events. The activity continues to build on its strong results and best practices, with a focus on improving the overall well-being of client households and entire communities.
