Abstract
The project focused on three components: Training, Dialogue, and Cooperation. Fundación Ideas para la Paz (FIP) implemented the project, which was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and had a budget of USD$1.559.898, with a cost-share of USD$60.837 by FIP. The project's main objective was to strengthen the business sector's dialogue capacity, promoting dialogue and reconciliation with local communities. The project worked in three regions: Buenaventura-Valle del Cauca, Buriticá-Antioquia, and Cañón del Porce: Amalfi-Anorí/ Antioquia. The project directly worked with 265 participants, who were the Laboratories associates. The project's Theory of Change and People to People approaches were used to develop a dialogue strategy among actors involved. The project also worked on generating spaces for meeting and dialogue between parties, contributing to the creation of more peacebuilding conditions. The project's research work aimed to identify factors affecting the transformation of relationships between local communities, companies, and communities. The project's consolidation phase involved follow-up encounters (ESE) to warrant the implementation of initiatives and address resulting concerns and challenges. The project also organized a meeting with business leaders in Buriticá and the Porce Canyon to socialize the final results of the trust instrument and make a joint evaluation of the companies' involvement in the Laboratories. The project's Monitoring and Evaluation component aimed to analyze changes in relationships between local communities, companies, and communities. The research process helped to create a wider knowledge and understanding of the relationships developed during the Laboratories. The project's recommendations were based on the identified factors and the study of fear perceptions and the configuration of communities. The project's geographic coverage included Buenaventura-Valle del Cauca, Buriticá-Antioquia, and Cañón del Porce: Amalfi-Anorí/ Antioquia.
