Abstract
The program focused on increasing utilization of quality facility-level services, including family planning, maternal and newborn health, and child health, including nutrition-specific interventions. Key performance indicators for the program included Couple Years Protection (CYP), facility visits, and institutional births. The program achieved 186% of its target for CYP, with 186,000 individuals receiving family planning services. Facility visits exceeded the target, with 582,650 new facility visits recorded. Institutional births also exceeded the target, with 85% coverage of institutional deliveries. The program also focused on increasing access to sanitation and clean water. The number of people with access to clean water increased by 159.2%, with 42,988 individuals gaining access to clean water. The number of communities with access to sanitation also increased, with 204 communities achieving certification with Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS). In terms of community health worker (CHW) training, 1,931 out of 2,028 animadoras received training on counseling and negotiation for nutrition-specific behavior change. The program also exceeded its target for supportive supervision visits for malaria, with 87 visits conducted. However, the program did not achieve its target for CHW contacts with individuals for health, with 458,485 contacts recorded, compared to a target of 900,000. The program also focused on integrating different health components at the community level through community activists, APEs, VCT-C, and community-based distribution (CBD) for contraceptives. The number of people trained with USG funds in various health areas increased, with 65,807 individuals trained. However, the program did not achieve its target for referrals to health facilities for family planning services, with 11,234 referrals recorded. In terms of HIV and AIDS services, the program exceeded its target for individuals who received counseling and testing (C&T) services, with 30,377 individuals tested. The program also exceeded its target for priority populations reached with preventive interventions, with 17,750 individuals reached. However, the program did not achieve its target for key population individuals reached with preventive interventions, with no data available due to changes in funding priorities.
