Funides' research agenda focuses on economics, institutional development, and social development. The organization believes that implementing public policies that strengthen the country's institutional framework, regulatory framework, accountability, and the rule of law is essential. Additionally, Funides aims to improve the quality and availability of public infrastructure and services, consolidate macroeconomic stability, promote investment and free trade, foster innovation and technology transfer, and improve access to and quality of healthcare, education, and social protection for the poor. The organization's board of directors is composed of prominent Nicaraguan figures, including Aurora Gurdián de Lacayo as president, Gerardo Baltodano Cantarero as vice president, and Terencio García Montenegro as secretary. Funides has a certification of implementation of international best practices as a non-governmental organization. The Fundación Nicaragüense para el Desarrollo Económico y Social publishes the Coyuntura Económica report three times a year, which is available in PDF format on the organization's website. The report provides an overview of the country's economic situation, including international economic trends, national economic activity, and projections for economic growth. The report is divided into several chapters, including a summary of the executive, an overview of the international economic situation, a review of the national economic situation, projections of economic growth, and an analysis of the labor market. The report also includes an assessment of consumer and business confidence, as well as references to relevant literature and annexes. The organization's research agenda is focused on understanding the country's economic and social challenges, including poverty, inequality, and limited access to basic services such as healthcare and education. Funides aims to provide policy recommendations to address these challenges and promote sustainable economic growth and social development in Nicaragua. The report highlights the importance of implementing policies that promote economic growth, reduce poverty, and improve access to basic services. It also emphasizes the need for a solid institutional framework, regulatory framework, and accountability to ensure the effective implementation of these policies. The organization's research is based on a range of data sources, including national statistics, international reports, and surveys of consumers and businesses. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the country's economic situation and highlights the key challenges and opportunities facing Nicaragua. The Fundación Nicaragüense para el Desarrollo Económico y Social plays a critical role in promoting economic and social development in Nicaragua. Its research and policy recommendations have the potential to inform decision-making and shape the country's development agenda.
