Abstract
The program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is being carried out by AECOM International Development. The program focuses on four key intermediate results: IR1 Stability Analysis, IR2 Access to GIRoA Services, IR3 Communication and Outreach, and IR4 Government Services and Development Projects. IR1 Stability Analysis involves conducting stability workshops for each approved district, providing technical assistance to district entities on stabilization issues, and facilitating inter-district entity meetings to exchange information and best practices. In the month of April 2014, the program made significant progress in various districts. In Kandahar Province, the program conducted a monthly review, which highlighted the need for improved security and economic development. In Daman District, the program implemented a number of activities, including training for provincial line directorates and assistance to establish productive relations between provincial and district entities. In Arghandab District, the program conducted a review of activities and results, which showed significant progress in terms of stability and access to GIRoA services. In Hilmand Province, the program implemented a number of activities, including training for provincial line directorates and assistance to establish productive relations between provincial and district entities. The program also made progress in other districts, including Bost, Garmser, Nad Ali, Nahri Sarraj, Nimroz, Kang, Zaranj, Zabul, Qalat, Tarnak Wa Jaldak, Shahjoy, Uruzgan, Tirin Kot, Chora, and Dihrawud.
