The Stellar Home Language Programme is a programme designed for Grade R teachers to support the development of children's language and literacy skills.

Abstract
The programme is CAPS-aligned and consists of various components, including story packs, teacher guides, and workbooks. The story packs include a series of stories, such as "The Three Goats" and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", which are designed to be used in the classroom to promote emergent literacy skills. The programme also includes a Teacher's Guide for parent meetings, which provides outlines for six meetings where teachers can support parents to expand their children's language and literacy skills at home. The workbooks for teachers is designed to be used in teacher training to deepen emergent literacy content knowledge and to strengthen classroom practice and parent engagement. The programme is supported by a team of experts, including Angelique Twiss, Colleen Diedericks, Cathy Lincoln, and Bukelwa Yuze, who have contributed to the development and writing of the programme. The programme has also received funding and support from various donors, including the DG Murray Trust, USAID, the Elma Foundation, and JP Morgan. The programme is designed to be used in the classroom to promote the development of children's language and literacy skills. The programme includes a series of stories, such as "Spot Goes to the Shop", which are designed to be used to promote emergent literacy skills. The programme also includes a Teacher's Guide for parent meetings, which provides outlines for six meetings where teachers can support parents to expand their children's language and literacy skills at home. The programme has undergone revisions and new content has been added by contributors, including Cathy O' Carroll, Jane Coombe, and Cathy Lincoln. The programme has also received support from various partners, including the Western Cape Metro South Education Department, the Western Cape Provincial and District Education Department, and various other organizations.
