Abstract
The program began in 2014 and is led by FUNDACIÓN ARCANGELES, the lead agency, in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The initiative focuses on promoting social inclusion, labor inclusion, and raising awareness about disability and its impact on individuals and communities. The program has made significant progress in the past quarter, with a total of 125 participants, an increase of 32 from the previous quarter. This growth is attributed to the successful implementation of activities, including the establishment of Sitting Volleyball teams formed by women only, with the goal of establishing at least one team per zone. The program has also achieved bonding a Paralympic discipline into the community integration event "Todo para los barrios 2016" in Cartagena, which has an active participation of 3,200 conventional athletes from marginalized neighborhoods. The initiative has also made efforts to strengthen competence through workshops on labor inclusion and disability rights. SportPower2 has established alliances with entities such as the Rehabilitation Center of the Ismael Roldan Hospital at Quibdó for medical assessments to participants, serving as an advocacy and consultative mechanism for the region. The program has also raised awareness in the community through "activations" implemented during the Opening Local Ceremony, which included activities such as the signature of a commitment declaration with disability, delivery of awards recognizing the work and commitment of institutions, and a participant sharing their life story and what SportPower2 means for them and their family. The number of visits to the website increased during this quarter, reaching 1,033 visits from 844 visits of the last quarter, achieving an increase in the number of pages viewed, as well as improving the projects' Facebook community. The number of lives impacted by this initiative has reached more than 8,000 users on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. The implementation of activities has shown significant progress, with a total of 60 events held in communities across the country, and 6 teams of Sitting Volleyball and Athletics formed. The program has also conducted 150 socio-economic characterizations of new participants, and 100 evaluations of perception of quality of life for participants. The initiative has also made efforts to develop activities, including the execution of two regional events, and the evaluation of initial and final perception of quality of life for participants. The program has also conducted capacitación (training) for participants, with the goal of improving their skills and abilities. The program has achieved significant progress in the past quarter, with a total of 125 participants, an increase of 32 from the previous quarter. The initiative has also made efforts to strengthen competence, raise awareness in the community, and develop activities to promote social inclusion, labor inclusion, and disability rights.
