Abstract
The two-day training included sessions on activity execution, communication requirements, and deliverables for monitoring and evaluation (M&E). Participants were also briefed on the use of TDEA-CVP’s comprehensive Partner Management Information System (PMIS) for timely reporting and submission of project deliverables. TDEA-CVP partners conducted coordination meetings with the District Election Commissioner (DEC) Haripur to discuss issues related to the smooth implementation of project activities. The DEC assured full support to TDEA-FAFEN partners for NIC registration of unregistered women. Additionally, three coordination meetings were held with local officials of NADRA for acquiring Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs) for women NIC registration in Abbottabad. These meetings aimed to mobilize support for women NIC and voter registration. Partner organizations conducted introductory meetings with community members and key stakeholders, including teachers, religious leaders, local government officials, district administration officials, elders, political parties, and political activists. A total of 26 community meetings were conducted in Lakki Marwat, Karak, Buner, Battagram, and Abbottabad. These meetings helped introduce the project to stakeholders and discussed various issues, including sensitization around women under-registration and the significance of National Identity Card (NIC). A total of 786 citizens, including 146 women, participated in these meetings. TDEA-CVP partners continued efforts to list unregistered women in their target communities of Karak, Lakki Marwat, Battagram, Buner, Abbottabad, North Waziristan, Orakzai, Kurram, and Peshawar districts. Partner organizations conducted 42 listing activities in these areas and compiled the list of unregistered women, which will help achieve project goals. During the reporting week, partner organizations identified 1,139 unregistered women in the mentioned areas. The draft list will be used to facilitate the listed women in acquiring their NIC through National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). TDEA-CVP engaged with political parties and citizens for pre-election observation in Newly Merged Districts (NMDs). Partner organizations conducted interviews with citizens in South Waziristan regarding campaigning for upcoming elections in NMDs for the 16 provincial assembly seats. TDEA-CVP’s constituency coordinators (CCs) interviewed a total of 63 citizens. Additionally, CCs interviewed five candidates and their election agents in Mohmand and Khyber districts regarding the election campaign and environment for the upcoming elections.
