Abstract
The project was implemented by Advanced Engineering Associates International, Inc. (AEAI) and was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). During the thirteenth quarter of the project, which spanned from April 1 to June 30, 2013, several key activities were undertaken. The systems for remote reading of energy consumption for pilot projects in Travnik, Livno, and Olovo were tested and found to be functioning properly. The Olovo schools pilot project was given technical acceptance and was granted an operational permit. Two new pilot projects were inaugurated during this quarter: the Primary School "Branko Ćopić" in Prijedor and the Street Lighting PP in Trebinje. The EE Year in Tuzla Canton was also launched, with a conference held on June 19, 2013, where thirteen mayors of Tuzla Canton municipalities and the Tuzla Canton Prime Minister signed an Energy Charter. The project also focused on strengthening the capacities of municipalities in Tuzla Canton to determine baseline energy consumption and recommend an energy management structure. Meetings were held with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to discuss current activities in Tuzla Canton, and USAID 3E presented its activities at several events and conferences. The project made significant progress in the thirteenth quarter, with several pilot projects being completed and inaugurated. The Travnik pilot project was inspected and found to be functioning properly, while the Livno pilot project was also inspected and verified to be functioning correctly. The Olovo schools pilot project was given technical acceptance and was granted an operational permit. The project also made progress in the area of energy management, with the establishment of a Student Energy Club in Tuzla and the initial meetings to kick-off the start of energy management for public building activities. Building energy consumption data collection training was also provided for USAID's future Data Entry Clerks and EE Coordinators in Tuzla. Overall, the thirteenth quarter of the Enterprise Energy Efficiency (3E) project in Bosnia and Herzegovina was marked by significant progress and achievements in the areas of energy efficiency, energy management, and capacity building. The project continues to promote energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption in the country, with a focus on strengthening the capacities of municipalities and promoting a sustainable energy future.
