Abstract
The overall objective of the training module is to enable FLWs to develop their understanding of IPC, Behaviour Change Communication (BCC), and increase their knowledge and capacity to use these skills in their day-to-day work. The training module focuses on developing the skills of FLWs for Interpersonal communications, advocacy, and social mobilization at the community level. The training module aims to bring about the desired results by the end of the training, which includes describing IPC, organizing and conducting meetings effectively, demonstrating the process of IPC for mobilization, listing down the gaps while conducting IPC, defining IEC, BCC, and SBCC, identifying different community stakeholders, and appreciating the need for Behavioural Change Communication with a focus on interpersonal communication in their day-to-day activities. The methodology adopted for the training module is interactive in nature and includes lectures, group discussions, brainstorming, case studies, group work, role-play, and energizers. The training module is designed to be conducted over a period of one day, with a total time of 9 hours and 30 minutes. The one-day training agenda for FLWs includes eight sessions, each with a specific objective, methodology, and materials required. The sessions cover topics such as welcome and introduction, expectations, and objectives; IPC; organizing and conducting meetings; IEC, BCC, and SBCC; different community stakeholders; and IPC for mobilization. The training module emphasizes the importance of creating a conducive learning environment, where participants feel comfortable and motivated to learn. The facilitators are expected to follow certain rules to ensure maximum benefit from the training, including listening carefully to the proceedings, switching off mobile phones, and participating fully in the interactions and group works. The training module also includes a pre-test questionnaire to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of the participants at the start of the training. The results of the pre-test will be shared with the participants to measure their progress after the training. The training module is designed to be conducted in a participatory manner, with the facilitators encouraging active participation from the participants. The training module aims to equip FLWs with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively communicate with the community, advocate for change, and mobilize support for social causes.
