Abstract
The project focuses on three result areas: upgrading technical secondary education to meet the needs of the selected governorates and sectors, improving the skills and productivity of the private sector in selected sectors and governorates, and improving the labor market efficiency environment. To achieve these results, the project has established partnerships with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoET), the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), and the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council (ENCC). The project has also developed a comprehensive framework for monitoring and reporting progress, which includes indicators for measuring the effectiveness of the project's interventions. In Year 1, the project has made significant progress in upgrading technical secondary education. The project has established a model for the School Unit for Transition to Employment (SUTE) and the Local Unit for Transition to Employment (LUTE) at the governorate level. The project has also developed curricula that meet international standards and address market needs. The project has also improved the skills and productivity of the private sector in selected sectors and governorates. The project has provided training and capacity building for stakeholders and counterparts, including the Central Unit for Transition to Employment (CUTE) at the national ministry level. The project has also established public-private partnerships to improve the labor market efficiency environment. The project has analyzed the current labor market structure, dynamics, and constraints, and has recommended interventions and strategies to improve labor market efficiency.
