Abstract
The goal of the Activity is to strengthen citizen-centric local governance in Thailand. The Activity aims to strengthen capacity of local government and nongovernment stakeholders in citizen-centric governance, strengthen communications, networking, and innovations among government and nongovernment stakeholders, and ensure wider institutionalization of successful local innovations that support citizen-centric governance. The Activity is based on the premise that mutually reinforcing efforts and deeper collaboration between government and nongovernment stakeholders will provide increased opportunities for citizens to participate in government and empower them to voice their concerns. Strengthening communications, networking, and innovations among government and nongovernment stakeholders can facilitate more citizen-centric local governance, contributing to constructive governance innovations. The Activity's interventions focus on strengthening capacity of local government and nongovernment stakeholders, promoting citizen-centric governance, and ensuring wider institutionalization of successful local innovations. The Activity's approach is based on the Theory of Change, which outlines the causal relationships between the Activity's interventions and the desired outcomes. The Activity's Annual Work Plan (AWP) outlines the specific objectives, activities, and expected outcomes for each year. The AWP is aligned with the Activity's goal and objectives, and it provides a framework for implementing the Activity's interventions. The Activity's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) system is designed to track progress, identify challenges, and identify areas for improvement. The MEL system includes indicators, data collection tools, and data analysis procedures to ensure that the Activity's interventions are effective and efficient. The Activity's budget is managed through a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and a Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC) submission. The COR is responsible for ensuring that the Activity's budget is managed in accordance with USAID's regulations and guidelines. The Activity's financial report for Year 1 shows a total expenditure of $X million, with a budget status of 100%. The report also highlights significant expenses, including personnel costs, travel expenses, and travel-related expenses. The Activity's quarterly financial report for Year 1 shows a total expenditure of $X million, with a budget status of 100%. The report also highlights major causes of difference between projections and actual expenditures during Quarter 4. The Activity's success stories highlight the impact of the Activity's interventions on citizen-centric governance in Thailand. The success stories include bridging boundaries and engaging media for collective change. The Activity's Annual Performance Report for Year 1 provides an overview of the Activity's progress, challenges, and lessons learned. The report highlights the Activity's achievements, including strengthening capacity of local government and nongovernment stakeholders, promoting citizen-centric governance, and ensuring wider institutionalization of successful local innovations. The Activity's Annual Performance Report for Year 1 also highlights the challenges faced by the Activity, including administrative and financial challenges. The report provides recommendations for improving the Activity's interventions and ensuring wider institutionalization of successful local innovations. The Activity's Annual Performance Report for Year 1 concludes that the Activity has made significant progress in strengthening citizen-centric local governance in Thailand.
