Abstract
Government Education Strategy and the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) Education Policy. E3/ED fulfills this responsibility through a variety of technical, advisory, and training support services to Missions and Bureaus on the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs in the areas of early grade reading, youth and workforce development, higher education, and education in conflict and crisis environments. To reinforce and improve upon the Office's current efforts in support of the Education Policy, E3/ED conceived of and designed the Education Performance Improvement, Communications and Knowledge (EPIC) project. EPIC is a five-year activity of support services, managed by the Education Policy and Planning Division (EPP) within E3/ED. EPIC's objective is to improve education sector programming, measurement, and management in the areas of performance improvement and organizational effectiveness. The EPIC project focuses on several key areas, including Organizational Effectiveness (OE), Professional Development (PD), Knowledge Management (KM), Engagement, Communications and Partnerships (ECP), and Buy-Ins. The OE component aims to enhance the Office's ability to manage and collaborate across workstreams, while the PD component focuses on developing the skills and knowledge of Education staff. The KM component seeks to improve the management and dissemination of knowledge products, and the ECP component aims to enhance engagement and communication with stakeholders. The EPIC project also involves collaboration with various USAID Bureaus and Offices, including the Africa Bureau, the Office of Trade and Regulatory Reform, and the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (DCHA OFDA). Additionally, the project involves participation in various conferences and events, such as the Global Education Conference and the Small Enterprise, Education, and Promotion (SEEP) Annual Conference. The EPIC project is managed by the Education Policy and Planning Division (EPP) within E3/ED, and is supported by a team of experts from the Training Resources Group, Inc. (TRG). The project's success will be measured through a variety of indicators, including the improvement of education sector programming, measurement, and management, as well as the enhancement of organizational effectiveness and knowledge management.
