Abstract
This development is part of the SPEED Project's efforts to improve the country's business enabling environment and enhance the role of the private sector in agriculture. The draft law aims to address key challenges in the agricultural sector, including land governance and productivity. Implementation of the SPEED Project's agricultural component focused on three key objectives: improving agriculture sector resilience and trade, enhancing land governance and productivity, and strengthening the enabling environment for private sector investment. The project's technical activities in this component included supporting the development of MADER's gender in agriculture strategy and action plan, as well as the development of the agriculture law and a road-map for accreditation and organic certification. In the first quarter of Year 3, the SPEED Project made significant contributions to advancing policy reforms and improving access to finance in all portfolios. The project's technical activities in the agriculture component were aligned with the Year 3 work plan, enabling reporting against work plan activities. The project's quarterly highlights and technical activities were organized by component, providing a comprehensive overview of the project's progress and achievements. The SPEED Project's efforts in the agriculture component were also supported by the project's community outreach and engagement activities.
