Abstract
It has a team of nine promoters who have been properly trained, three volunteer promoters, and has received technical assistance from USAID|PrevenSida and other partners such as PASMO. The organization's mission is to promote the rights and well-being of the transgender female population in Nicaragua. ADESENI's promoters have undergone extensive training on topics such as HIV and AIDS prevention, behavior change, stigma, discrimination, and gender-based violence. This training has had a profound impact on the promoters, with many reporting improvements in their emotional and professional well-being. Tracy Boniche, a leading promoter, has taken on a directive board secretary role and credits the training with inspiring her to return to school. Natasha Hernández, another promoter, has strengthened her knowledge on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) topics and has been able to provide support to her colleagues. The organization's work has also been influenced by the training provided by USAID|PrevenSida. Cristabella Berrios, the treasurer of the directive board, notes that the HIV testing conducted by the organization has become more secure and professional. She has also been trained on human rights and advocacy topics and is now seen as a promoter of human rights in her community. Seyli Canales, a promoter with one year of experience, believes that her approaches are now more focused on quality rather than quantity. She has also improved her ability to communicate with others and has been able to reach decision makers through negotiation. Marlene Vivas, the legal representative of ADESENI, notes that the organization's growth and expansion to other territories have been made possible by the volunteer work of its promoters. She believes that the training provided by USAID|PrevenSida has strengthened the capacity of the organization's human resources in technical, administrative, and managerial aspects. The support provided by USAID|PrevenSida has had a significant impact on ADESENI, enabling the organization to grow and expand its reach. The organization's leaders are an example of overcoming obstacles and defending their ideals and gender identity in the face of stigma and discrimination. The support has also enabled the organization to acquire knowledge, expand its operations, and promote equality and support for the transgender female population in Nicaragua.
