Abstract
The Activity will focus on building on the groundwork laid in its first year of implementation, despite a challenging environment. The approach will be integrated and territorial, with land governance at its center. This will enable peace through rural development and licit economic participation. The Activity will work in selected regions with the Government of Colombia (GOC) to promote land governance. This will involve innovative approaches to formalization, particularly in the context of illicit crop substitution. Environmental considerations will also be integrated into economic growth initiatives. The Activity will focus on promoting sustainable land use and management practices, as well as supporting the development of local capacities. The Activity will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and private sector partners. This will involve collaboration and coordination to achieve common goals and objectives. The Activity will also provide technical assistance and support to help build the capacity of local institutions and communities. The Land for Prosperity Activity will focus on several key components, including land formalization, rural development, and licit economic participation. The Activity will work to promote the development of local economies, improve access to markets and services, and enhance the livelihoods of rural communities. This will involve supporting the development of small-scale agriculture, livestock, and other rural enterprises. The Activity will also focus on promoting environmental sustainability and conservation. This will involve supporting the development of sustainable land use and management practices, as well as promoting the conservation of natural resources. The Activity will work to reduce the environmental impacts of agricultural and livestock production, and promote the use of environmentally friendly technologies and practices. The Land for Prosperity Activity will be implemented over a period of two years, with a focus on achieving specific outcomes and results.
