Abstract
The program aimed to prepare students for their next-level exams and provide them with the necessary skills to excel in their studies. The remedial course consisted of intensive tutoring sessions and practice exams, which were provided by Burkinabe school teachers. The program targeted students who had not attended formal classes since November 2018. Despite the challenges, the students showed remarkable resilience and determination to continue their education. The results of the program were impressive, with 100 grade-five students attending the courses. Among them, 46 girls passed the exam, which is 20 percent higher than the national achievement rate. Additionally, 43 percent of high school student participants passed their exams, which is 9 percent higher than the national average. The program not only provided students with the necessary skills to excel in their studies but also instilled hope and resilience in them. Many students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the program, citing its impact on their lives. For instance, a female student who passed the national exam stated that she wanted to become a teacher to help others and make a positive impact in her community. The program's success can be attributed to the dedication and hard work of the Burkinabe school teachers, who provided intensive tutoring sessions and practice exams to the students. The program's focus on providing remedial learning courses to students affected by school closures demonstrates the importance of education in overcoming challenges and advancing one's studies.
