Abstract
The project was implemented in collaboration with the Eritrean government and local stakeholders. A five-day workshop was conducted to discuss land rights and tenure security, with the goal of promoting sustainable land management practices. The project focused on the union of Togo and Eritrea, with a specific emphasis on the region's agricultural sector. The project team recognized the importance of secure land rights in promoting economic development and reducing poverty. A key objective of the project was to establish a framework for land rights and tenure security, which would enable rural communities to access and manage land resources more effectively. The project involved the establishment of a land rights and tenure security framework, which included the development of policies and procedures for land allocation and management. The framework was designed to promote transparency, accountability, and participation in land decision-making processes. The project team worked closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, herders, and community leaders, to ensure that the framework was tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of the region. Implementation of the project involved the conduct of a series of workshops and training sessions, which aimed to raise awareness about land rights and tenure security among rural communities. The project team also worked with local government officials to develop and implement policies and procedures for land allocation and management. The project's impact was evaluated through a series of surveys and assessments, which indicated significant improvements in land rights and tenure security among rural communities. The project's success was attributed to the strong collaboration between the project team, local stakeholders, and government officials. The project's framework for land rights and tenure security was seen as a model for other regions in Eritrea, and its impact was recognized at the national level. The project's findings and recommendations were disseminated through a series of reports and publications, which aimed to promote awareness and understanding of land rights and tenure security among policymakers, practitioners, and rural communities.
