Abstract
The program focuses on four key components: advocating for and tracking increased public investment, accessing repayable finance, replicating success through knowledge sharing and documentation of lessons, and promoting climate-smart and resilient WASH infrastructure investment. The WASH-FIN program operates in several countries, including Cambodia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nepal, the Philippines, Senegal, and Southern Africa. In Cambodia, the program focused on promoting sustainable business models and proven commercial approaches in WASH financing. Initial assessments identified a need for improved access to finance for WASH projects, particularly in rural areas. The program implemented a range of activities, including training for financial institutions and WASH service providers, to improve access to finance for WASH projects. In Kenya, the program focused on promoting climate-smart and resilient WASH infrastructure investment. The program implemented a range of activities, including training for WASH service providers and community engagement, to promote the adoption of climate-resilient WASH infrastructure. Initial assessments identified a need for improved access to finance for WASH projects, particularly in rural areas.
