Abstract
The contents of this newsletter are the sole responsibility of ACDC and do not necessarily reflect the views of USAID or the United States Government. ACDC cooperated with Quang Ngai Province Association of People with Disabilities to provide 600 gift sets to families of people with disabilities and disadvantaged individuals severely affected by the storm surge in Binh Chau Commune and Binh Thanh Commune, Binh Son District, and Hanh Duc Commune and Hanh Nhan Commune, Nghia Hanh District, in December 2020. The gift sets aimed to support people with disabilities and disadvantaged individuals affected by the storm surge. In Phu Vang District, Thua Thien Hue Province, ACDC worked with Phu Vang District Medical Center and Phu Vang District Association of People with Disabilities to survey several families of people with disabilities for the "Guidelines on How to Ensure Accessibility and Independent Living for People with Disabilities" activity from January 16-18, 2021. The activity aimed to promote accessibility and independent living for people with disabilities. ACDC also supported various activities in Quang Tri Province, Quang Nam Province, and Binh Duong Province, including promoting independent living through traditional theatre, supporting activities for people with disabilities, and training in promoting gender equality and preventing gender-based violence against women and girls with hearing impairment. The Vietnamese government has developed policies to support enterprises with disabled employees, including benefits that enterprises can enjoy. These policies aim to motivate enterprises to hire people with disabilities and ensure regular tasks for them. ACDC has been working to support people with disabilities and disadvantaged individuals through various activities and projects. In 2020, ACDC accomplished its mission through many activities aimed at "Sharing Beliefs and Empowering People with Disabilities" in Vietnam. The organization's efforts and enthusiasm to support people with disabilities were evident in its key events in 2020. ACDC's activities and projects have made a significant impact on the lives of people with disabilities and disadvantaged individuals in Vietnam. ACDC's success stories highlight the determination and resilience of people with disabilities who have overcome their health problems and difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic. One such story is about a little disabled woman who overcame her health problems and difficulties to set up a small livestock farm with the support of the project. Her determination and enthusiasm are an inspiration to many, and her story is a testament to the impact of ACDC's work. As the Lunar New Year approaches, ACDC wishes all its partners, sponsors, colleagues, and friends good health, happiness, luck, and success in the year ahead. The organization looks forward to continuing its mission to support people with disabilities and disadvantaged individuals in Vietnam.
